The highly anticipated MadfunXperience featuring Grammy Award-winning superstar Burna Boy is set to take place at Uhuru Gardens in Nairobi on March 1, 2025.
Madfun, an events production, travel, and ticketing company, said this concert was going to be one of Kenya’s biggest entertainment events, bringing together music lovers from across Africa and beyond.
Burna Boy to headline
Burna Boy, known for his energetic performances and global hits, will be the main act at the MadfunXperience.
Joining Burna Boy on stage will be some of Africa’s finest talents. Among them, Kenyan Afro-pop star Charisma who shared his enthusiasm at a press conference in February. Charisma, known for his smooth vocals, sees this as a defining moment in his career.
“This is a dream moment, and I’m ready to give fans an unforgettable show,” he stated.
Also performing at the event is South African Amapiano DJ and producer Virgo Deep, one of the pioneers of the genre.
Virgo Deep’s deep, bass-heavy Amapiano sets have made him a sensation across Africa.
Adding even more excitement to the star-studded lineup is Kenyan sensation Bensoul.
The Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter, known for hits like “Forget You” and “Nairobi”, will bring his soulful hits to the stage.
According to Madfun, Bensoul’s blend of Afro-fusion and soulful melodies will add a fresh dynamic to the show, giving fans an exciting mix of sounds and styles.
Event organisers have said the MadfunXperience is about creating a movement that celebrates African artistry on a grand scale, and they’re pulling out all the stops to make this event unforgettable.
“We are here to prove that Kenya has the capacity to host international events that can compete with the best in the world. MadfunXperience is more than a concert. We want to make a statement about Kenya’s place in the global entertainment industry.” Madfun managing Director Joy Wachira said.
Security details
With thousands of attendees expected, security is a top priority for Madfun.
Lang’ata Sub-County Police Commander, Ms Monica Kimani, has assured concertgoers that stringent security measures will be put in place.
“There will be no room for any aspect of criminality. We will also secure hotels where guests are staying and ensure smooth traffic flow,” she stated.
She also said that law enforcement agencies will be working closely with Madfun to provide a safe environment, including strict security checks at entry points and increased surveillance.
Key partnerships
Madfun revealed they have secured key partnerships to enhance the experience for attendees. Odibets is sponsoring the event as part of its commitment to supporting music and the arts, while Moët Hennessy will provide a premium VIP and VVIP experience.
Tribe Hotel is offering accommodation packages for international guests while Uber will provide a variety of ride options to and from the venue.
Event details
Gates will open at 3:00 PM and promptly close at 9 PM. Attendees are requested to arrive in time to avoid being locked out of the event.
Madfun have said the security measure is to ensure that all attendees are secure to enjoy the event without disruption.
