Two former police officers linked to the outlawed Fighting Brutality and Impunity (FBI) movement have been arraigned at the Kahawa Law Courts as detectives intensify investigations into the group’s suspected ties to terrorism.
Jackson Kuria Kihara, also known as Cop Shakur and a former prison officer, was arrested in Kahawa West while allegedly in possession of a red beret bearing the group’s emblem.
He was presented in court on Thursday to face terrorism-related charges.
His arraignment comes just a day after the arrest of Patrick Nyambaka Osoi, a former KDF soldier and founding member of the movement, who was apprehended in an operation along Lang’ata Road.
Osoi appeared before the same court on Wednesday, where he faced terrorism charges under the Prevention of Terrorism Act, 2012.
He is also accused of being in unlawful possession of a firearm.
He is currently being held at Muthaiga Police Station as the court considers a custodial application expected to be determined today.
Investigations are ongoing as detectives seek to uncover the extent of the group’s operations and possible affiliations with outlawed networks.
