Express Kitchen taps growing urban taste in expansion drive

Food service firm, Express Kitchen, expects to sustain it’s expansion drive riding on growing urban food experience.

Through a partnership with Hass Petroleum, Express Kitchen which operates Chicken Cottage opened opened it’s 8th outlet in Nairobi’s Kasarani area.

The firm which also operates Papa John’s Pizza says the new outlet now takes the its total outlets under its belt to 16.

“We’re proud of how far we’ve come and excited to keep expanding our footprint across Kenya,” said Abdirashid Jabane, Express Kitchen director.

The fast food company expects the new outlet to contribute to expansion of its more than 200 workforce in Nairobi and Narok branches to address youth unemployment which currently stands at 12pc.

“We are a locally owned company dedicated to serving our community by providing high-quality meals at affordable prices,” added Ayan Ali, Express Kitchen director.

The strategic partnership with Hass Petroleum targets to leverage its 38 retail stations in Kenya and over 150 across nine countries to reach motorists and urban consumers.

“The opening of Chicken Cottage at Hass Kasarani marks a key milestone in our vision to create holistic, family-friendly destinations across the country. We are proud to host the 8th Chicken Cottage branch in Kenya and the second one at a Hass service station following last year’s successful addition in Narok,” added Mohamud Salat, Chief Executive Officer Hass Group.

The new Kasarani outlet aims to serve over 800,000 residents, with a special focus on families, the youth, young professionals seeking flavorful, affordable meals in a modern setting.
