Kakamega: Police arrest three suspects linked to criminal activities

Police in Kakamega town have arrested three notorious suspects believed to be behind a series of criminal activities including house break-ins.

Detectives drawn from Kakamega police station conducted an operation raiding the suspects’ hideout in Muranda village, Shinyalu Constituency of Kakamega County.

Kakamega Central Sub County Police Commander, Vincent Cherutich said police managed to recover stolen property worth thousands of shillings, including electronic equipment, from the home of one of the suspects, 67-year-old Joseph Mayengo.

The Sub County Police Commander said that police have also launched investigations into the death of a third-year, Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology student whose body was found hanging from the roof inside his room at Sichirai area on the outskirts of Kakamega town.

The student, identified as 22-year-old Edmonde Mbaye, is reported to have gone missing on Monday before his body was discovered by the landlord.
