KCB unveil teams’ kits ahead of Grueling season

KCB Bank is making major changes to its sports teams as part of an ambitious plan to dominate both Kenyan and regional competitions.

The bank is bringing in new players, making coaching changes, and introducing redesigned kits for its rugby, football, and volleyball teams to boost performance and fan engagement.

The KCB Rugby FC, an eight-time Kenya Cup champion, has made several high-profile signings under interim coach Dennis Mwanja. New players include:

– Kelvin Ochieng (Northern Suburbs)

– Collins Oduor (Nondies)

– Three players from Kabras Sugar: Biko Brandon, Joseph Wanja, and Ian Oduor

– George ‘Japolo’ Ooro, John Aswani, and Steven Osumba (Strathmore Leos)

– Others: Mike Oduor (Daystar Falcons), Clyde Kimaya, Haffith Muhammad (South Coast Pirates), and Mweresa

These additions aim to help the team reclaim its dominance in Kenyan rugby.

KCB Football Club has also made strategic moves to sharpen its competitiveness. Under experienced coach Robert Matano, the Club has strengthened its squad with key signings like:Hemphrey Mieno,Gideon Were,Rowland Makati,Kelvin Injili, Arnold Muhanji, Fortune Omoto,Amatton Samunya, Josephat Andafu,Tedja Wanumbi

The team has also added John Njogu as a trainer, showing its determination to compete for top honors in the FKF Premier League.

The KCB Women’s Volleyball Team, fresh from winning the first-ever Kenya Cup Volleyball Championship, continues to build a strong roster,  with players like Marlene Tata, Juliana Namutira, and Belinda Barasa being included in the national squad a head of world championships set to take place in Thailand from august 27th to september 7th .

In chess, KCB leads the Kenya Chess Premier League with 25 points and recently won the corporate category at the Kitale Open. The team is on track to secure its ninth national title.

Alongside team upgrades, KCB has launched new playing kits for its rugby, football, and volleyball teams. The refreshed designs aim to strengthen team identity and deepen fan connections, with the kits available for public purchase.

Rosalind Gichuru, KCB Group Director of Marketing and Communications, explained the strategy: “We believe that success on the field begins with strategic investment off it. These changes are not just about boosting performance—they reflect our longstanding commitment to empowering talent, elevating Kenyan sport, and connecting more meaningfully with our fans.”

With these moves, KCB is positioning itself as a powerhouse in Kenyan sports, aiming for championships across multiple disciplines.
