Gin cocktails replaced traditional cups of tea at Holiday Inn Nairobi Two Rivers, where guests enjoyed a modern twist on afternoon tea.

The event swapped out the usual tea service for creative gin-infused cocktails while keeping the social atmosphere that makes high tea special.

Attendees dressed in elegant pastels, crisp whites and bright summer hues attire were treated to an extensive menu of food and cocktail creations.

“Seeing our guests immerse themselves in the creativity, flavours and vibrant spirit of the High Tea Soirée was truly exciting. This wasn’t just about tea; it was about celebrating the zest of life in every sip and every moment,” said Elizabeth Otieno, Brand Manager at Gordon’s.

The gin-infused tea party extended beyond refreshments as musical performances by Stage Revolution band, DJ Shwatz and DJ Taylor provided entertainment, while vocalist Anto Neosoul led guests in an impromptu karaoke session.

A highlight of the event was the mixology challenge, where guests tested their cocktail-making skills. MaryAnne Kisera claimed the top prize, a premium accommodation package at the hotel. Runners-up Bancy Nyawira and Betty Muriithi also received prizes, including cocktail sets and specialty beverages.

“This collaboration with Gordon’s allowed us to create a dynamic and immersive high tea experience, seamlessly blending tradition with modern indulgence,” Holiday Inn Nairobi Two Rivers General Manager Pooja Patel noted. “I am proud to announce that the special tea cocktails will now feature in our drinks section menu.”

With traditional hospitality venues seeking to attract diverse clientele, similar fusion concepts may become more common in the coming months.
