The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has unveiled the nominees in the Men’s Categories for the CAF Awards 2025, with Morocco dominating the list .
The selected players were considered for the period of 6th January to 15th October this year with the awards meant to reward the efforts by different African players both continentally and globally.
Paris Saint Germain talisman Achram Hakimi and Oussama Lamlioui of RS Berkane both from Morocco have made the cut for the men’s gong.
Others in the list include Cameroon’s Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa, Egypt’s Mohamed Salah ,Fiston Mayele (DR Congo/Pyramids), Victor Osimhen (Nigeria/Galatasaray) and Iliman Ndiaye (Senegal/Everton).
The list also include Denis Bouanga (Gabon/Los Angeles FC),Serhou Guirassy (Guinea/Borussia Dortmund) and Pape Matar Sarr (Senegal/Tottenham Hotspur)
Yassine Bonou (Morocco/Al Hilal) headlines a star-studded list for the Goalkeeper of the year alongside Nigeria Stanley Nawabali and last year’s winner Ronwen Williams (South Africa/Mamelodi Sundowns) .
Other nominees are:Andre Onana (Cameroon/Trabzonspor) ,Vozinha (Cape Verde/Chaves),Ahmed El Shenawy (Egypt/Pyramids),Munir Mohamedi (Morocco/RS Berkane),Edouard Mendy (Senegal/Al Ahli),Marc Diouf (Senegal/Tengueth) and Aymen Dahmen (Tunisia/CS Sfaxien).
The men’s interclub player of the year award includes Morocco’s trio ;Mohamed Hrimat (Morocco/AS FAR),Mohamed Chibi (Morocco/Pyramids) andOussama Lamlioui (Morocco/RS Berkane).
Others in contention for award are: Algeria’s Ismael Belkacemi (USM Alger) ,Burkina Faso’s Blati Touré (Pyramids FC) , Emam Ashour (Al Ahly) ,Ismael Belkacemi (Algeria/Al Ahli Tripoli) Blati Toure (Burkina Faso/Pyramids FC),Issoufou Dayo (Burkina Faso/RS Berkane),Fiston Mayele (DR Congo/Pyramids),Ahmed Samy (Egypt/Pyramids),Emam Ashour (Egypt/Al Ahly), Ibrahim Adel (Egypt/Pyramids)and Shomari Kapombe (Tanzania/Simba).
Morocco also has three players nominated for the Coach of the year Tarik Sektioui (Morocco CHAN),Mohamed Ouahbi (Morocco U-20) and Walid Regragui (Morocco).
Three Morocco’s players have also been shortlisted for the Young player of the year award namely Abdellah Ouazane (Morocco/Ajax),Houssam Essadak (Morocco/US Touarga) and Othmane Maamma (Morocco/Watford).
CAF said the nominations were drawn from performances between 6 January and 15 October 2025, selected by a panel of its Technical & Development Committee, CAF Legends, coaches, and media representatives.
Winners will be announced at the CAF Awards Gala 2025, to be held later this year at a venue yet to be confirmed.
