One body has been retrieved from the Indian ocean waters, following Friday’s boat incident in Tudor Mombasa during a water sporting event.

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki who toured the scene of the accident pledged government’s support to the affected families, and psycho social support to 19 other survivors of the incident.

The DP confirmed that search efforts for the remaining two missing persons are ongoing, lauding first responders for their swift action in saving lives.

He announced that the National and County Governments will cater for the funeral expenses of the deceased.

Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Nassir and Jomvu Member of Parliament Badi Twalib who accompanied the DP continued to appeal for patience as the divers led by the Kenya navy continue to scout for the duo.

This even as pressure is mounting for the organizers of the event to be arrested.
