Bunyala Sub-County detectives are intensifying their search for two suspects, Edwin Ogolla and Denis Asabu, wanted for the assault of a minor in an incident that was recorded on camera and widely circulated across social media platforms.
Children’s officers brought the case to light when they presented the minor at Port Victoria Police Station.
According to their report, the heart-wrenching incident took place three months ago at the child’s home in Musoma.
In the video footage, the minor’s uncle, Edwin Ogolla, can be seen manhandling the child while his father, Denis Asabu, recorded the ordeal without showing any remorse.
Due to the lack of immediate medical attention, the minor sustained serious injuries, which are still in the process of healing.
After the video surfaced, children’s officers took swift action by ensuring the minor received medical treatment, where a P3 form was filled to document the injuries.
Bunyala detectives have since recorded statements from witnesses and initiated a manhunt for the two suspects.
Authorities believe the pair may have fled to a neighbouring country, but efforts are underway to apprehend them and ensure justice is served.
