President William Ruto departed last evening for Doha, Qatar, to strengthen investment partnerships and attend the United Nations Second World Social Development Summit (WSSD2).
In a statement, State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohammed said the summit will focus on poverty reduction, decent work, and social inclusion.
While in Qatar, Hussein said President Ruto will conclude key investment agreements to modernise Kenya’s infrastructure and advance flagship energy and transport projects.
At the same time, he will hold talks with several world leaders, including His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, to deepen cooperation in trade, investment, and strategic development initiatives.
The head of state will advance expanded Qatari investment and strategic partnerships in agriculture, particularly food security and climate-smart farming, as well as in renewable energy, green hydrogen, health, tourism, transport, and logistics.
The Head of State will also engage Qatari business leaders to broaden public-private partnerships.
At the summit, President Ruto will deliver statements on behalf of Kenya and the Africa Group, calling for fair global financial systems and universal access to essential services.
