President William Ruto Monday evening spoke on phone with His Majesty King Charles III.
Ruto shared the details of their conversation which he said centered on the long-standing and close ties between Kenya and the United Kingdom.
“I have had a telephone conversation with His Majesty King Charles III of the United Kingdom. We discussed Kenya’s long-standing and close ties with the United Kingdom” he said.
The head of state further highlighted a shared passion for nature and climate conservation between the two countries.
They also addressed Kenya’s significant role in regional peace and security.
“I am glad that Kenya and the United Kingdom have a shared passion for nature and climate conservation. We also discussed regional peace and security and Kenya’s role” he noted.
President Ruto, who chairs the East African Community Heads of State Summit, is leading efforts to address the volatile situation in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
Last week, he convened a meeting in Nairobi, Kenya, and this week, a joint EAC-SADC summit on the DRC conflict will be held in Tanzania.
