Olympic 800m Champion Emmanuel Wanyonyi,cruised to his 3rd victory of the season at the Herculis Diamond League on Friday night in Monaco, posting a world lead and meeting record of 1:41.44 .
American Josh Hoey, was 2nd in 1:42.01, 0.019 secs ahead of 3rd placed Djamel Sedjati of Algeria, while the reigning world champion Marco Arop from Canada, finished a distant 5th.
The win extended Wanyonyi’s lead to 30 points and is well on course to retaining his diamond trophy.

World under-20 champion Edmund Serem of Kenya still leads the 3000m steeplechase standings on 24 points, despite finishing 3rd yesterday after clocking a personal best time of 8 minutes and 4 seconds.
Moroccan Olympic champion Soufiane El Bakkali, won the race in 8:03.18, ahead of Japan’s Ruyji Miura (8:03.43).
Olympic silver medallist Abraham Kibiwot finished in 12th position.
Former World silver medallist Jacob Krop of Kenya settled for a 9th position in the 5000m, the race won by Ethiopian Yomif Kejelcha in 12:49.46.
Frenchman Jimmy Gressier and Birhanu Balew of Bahrain followed in 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively.
Nelly Chepchirchir of Kenya clocked a personal best time of 2 minutes 29.77 seconds, to win the 1000m race, while 800m world champion Mary Moraa finsihed 12th.

Olympic Champion Lestile Tebogo of Botswana, was relegated to 2nd place in the 200m in 19.97 secs as reigning World Champion Noah Lyles of the USA romped to victory in 19.88.
Olympic champion Julien Alfred of Saint Lucia claimed victory in the 100m in 10.79, ahead of Jacious Sears of the USA and Joe Hobbs of New Zealand, who finished 2nd and 3rd in 11.02 and 11.12, respectively.
The Diamond League action now shifts to London next Saturday.
