Speaker of National Assembly Moses Wetangula has called on Parliament to step in and advice on how to end the conflict in the health sector.
Speaking when he attended a thanksgiving ceremony for Lugari MP Nabii Nabwera in Kakamega County, Wetangula said that the issues affecting the health sector cannot be resolved by the Ministry of Health alone.
Leader of Minority in National Assembly Opiyo Wandayi urged the government to find a workable solution to the impasse.
Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumicha noted that it will be a little difficult for all the blame to be lamped on her ministry considering that the Collective Bargaining Agreement was signed in 2017 before she joined government.
Elsewhere, leaders across the political divide are now calling on the government to resolve the impasse in the health sector.
Former Governor Wycliffe Oparanya is urging the Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumicha to have a sit down with doctors and find a solution on the demands being made.
Oparanya said that doctors make the crème de la crème of the society and their demands should not be wished away, adding that Kenyans are suffering as a result of the strike by the medics.
