The Kenya Editors’ Guild (KEG) has officially unveiled the list of validly nominated candidates for its much-anticipated elections, set to take place on Saturday, April 12, 2025.
The elections will determine new leadership across several key positions, including president, vice president, council members and trustees.
Veteran journalists Zubeidah Kananu and Yvonne Okwara will vie for the presidential seat, marking a high-stakes contest between two prominent figures in the media.
Kananu, who is the incumbent president and the first woman to hold the position, is seeking re-election.
In other positions, Linda Bach (Print Media), Kenfrey Kiberenge (Online Media) and Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) Deputy Editor in Chief Millicent Awuor (Television) have all secured their places as Council Members, having been the only validly nominated candidates in their respective categories.
The Radio category will feature a contest between Toepista Nabusoba and KBC News Editor Agnes Mwangangi.
