The City of Rabat, Morocco, will host this year’s CAF awards set for 19th November, marking the 3rd year in a row for the gala to be staged in the North African country.
The gala will once again celebrate the finest footballers, coaches, and teams across Africa, recognising their outstanding performances for clubs and countries over the past year.
Among the key categories being contested are the African Player of the Year for Men and Women, Coach of the Year for Men and Women,National Team of the Year for both Men and Women, Club of the Year for Men and Women, African-based player of the year, and Young Player of the Year.
Some big names shortlisted for the men’s Player of the Year award include Liverpool and Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah, Achraf Hakimi of Morocco and Paris Saint-Germain’s Victor Osimhen.
Others include Serhou Guirassy of Guinea and Borussia Dortmund, Gabon’s Denis Bouanga, and Cameroonian Zambo Anguissa, who also turns out for Napoli.
Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman and Barbra Banda of Zambia were crowned the best players in 2024.
Morocco is staging the gala for a time in a row after Marrakech hosted the 2023 and 2024 editions.
