The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), in collaboration with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), is zeroing in on politicians from the western region who are believed to be behind the alleged malicious damage and theft during a raid at the residence of the Trans Nzoia County Governor, George Natembeya, by EACC.
In a press briefing Friday, the commission did not disclose the names of the said politicians but noted their arrest is imminent.
The Anti-Graft body has confirmed that the intention of the rowdy protesters who were allegedly incited was to destroy evidence being collected from the Governor’s residence in Kitale.
The joint operation has already led to the arrest of 14 suspects in connection with the Monday incident.
EACC Chair Dr David Oginde has also raised concerns over Kenyans who are coming to the aid of corrupt leaders, especially when they are being apprehended, noting that the tokens they receive from the corrupt leaders to cause mayhem, damage and prevent sleuths are their taxes.
