Kenyan content creators are set to gain cutting-edge skills on how to use creative artificial intelligence (AI) tools to improve their crafts.
This follows the launch of the Kenya Edition of the Africa AI Creators Academy by which targets to enroll Kenyan artists, content creators, educators, and digital entrepreneurs for the one-month immersive program.
“This isn’t just a course. It’s a movement to unlock the creative and economic potential of AI for Kenyan youth,” states Oscar Mwai, Founder of POSH I.T.
Through the academy, Kenyan youth will have access to over 100+ AI-powered tools – including video generators, scriptwriters, music makers, and art creation platforms, along with expert-led training sessions, peer learning, and a final creative showcase.
The Kenya edition of the Africa AI Creators Academy is part of a pan-African initiative aiming to democratize access to the AI economy through culturally relevant, story-first training.
“As a filmmaker and AI artist myself, I’ve seen firsthand how creative AI can open doors, not just to technology, but to self-expression, entrepreneurship, and impact. This is about building local talent for global influence,” added Lisa Russell, Founder and CEO of ArtsEnvoy.ai.
The Kenya cohort will include over 30 short video modules, weekly live sessions with mentor, Lisa Russell, and 5,000+ AI credits per student to experiment and build their portfolios.
The program whose applications have since been opened targets filmmakers, designers, musicians, poets, educators, and creators of all backgrounds who want to learn how to use AI ethically and creatively.
