Two arrested as police recover stolen motorcycle in Kakamega

Two individuals have been arrested in Kakamega in connection with the theft of a motorcycle.

Police officers from Kakamega and Mudete Police Stations recovered the stolen motorbike during a dawn operation on Friday in the Mudete area.

“Acting on a report of a stolen red Boxer motorcycle, registration number KMFQ 735P, officers traced it to a rental house near Mudete Centre. The motorbike, which had been concealed at the premises, was positively identified by its owner shortly after recovery,” the National Police Service (NPS) said in a statement.

The suspects found at the scene were taken into custody, and the recovered motorcycle was transported to Kakamega Police Station as investigations continue.

Meanwhile, in Nandi County, a man was arrested in Surungai after being found in possession of 240 litres of chang’aa hidden in a 50kg blue sack.

The arrest was made during a targeted operation by officers from Kapsabet Police Station in collaboration with National Government Administration Officers (NGAO).

The suspect is being held at Kapsabet Police Station and is expected to be formally charged in court.
