The group matches of the 8th edition of the African Nations Championship are almost drawing to a close, paving the way for the quarter-finals.

Fifty-seven goals have been scored in the 26 matches played so far, with six players finding the back of the net twice.

They include Kenya’s Austin Odhiambo, Tanzania’s Clement Mzize, Ugandan Allan Okello, Kaporal of Angola, and South Africa’s Thabiso Kutumela.
and Abdel Raouf of Sudan.

A total of 43 different players have scored a goal each, with two own goals from Angola’s Quinito in their Group A match against Morocco and Nigeria’s Leonard Ngenge in their Group D match against Sudan.

Group stage matches will conclude on 19th August before paving the way for quarter-finals set for between the 22nd and 23rd, followed by the semis on the 26th.

The bronze match will be staged on the 29th at the Nelson Mandela Stadium in Kampala, culminating with the final a day later at the Moi Kasarani Stadium.
