Triple Olympic champion Faith Kipyegon will be seeking to rewrite history today as she takes to the track for the final of the 1500m, aiming for a 4th global title in Tokyo .
Having won the title in 2017, 2022 and 2023 and holding the world record in the same race, Kipyegon has already enjoyed smooth sailing from round 1 till the semis of this year’s championships.
She will be accompanied by the Diamond League champion Nelly Chepchirchir and debutant US-based Dorcas Ewoi.
Kipyegon will aim to become the 1st woman to win 4 gold medals and 3 consecutive titles in 1500m.
The final will begin at 4.05pm Kenyan time.
