Gospel artist Eunice Lema has signed with Universal Music Group (UMG) East Africa and released her first project under the label, shortly after performing at the Mashujaa Day celebrations in Ukambani.

Her new album, “Wambumya Vaasa”, meaning “God has brought me far”, reflects her personal journey, detailing her triumphs, challenges and long-standing devotion to her Christian faith.

The title underscores the spiritual foundation that has shaped her decades-long career in music and ministry.

“The album features songs like “Maovu”, which is a thanksgiving song. The song speaks to the faith we have in God, meaning as long as you trust in Him, anything is possible. Whether it’s sickness, poverty or any challenge we go through in life, as long as you believe in Him, He can deliver you, and He will protect you,” Lema said.

The album also includes Christmas-themed tracks such as “Yesu Nisiawe”, a homage to the birth of Jesus Christ.

“It’s basically a call for people to remember the day Jesus was born. I talk about it because He has been good to me and He has given me this gift, and I want people to remember His birthday with me,” she added.

With a career defined by longevity and consistency, Lema expressed excitement about her new partnership with UMG, one of the world’s largest music companies.

She hopes the collaboration will help her music reach wider audiences across the region and beyond.
