CS Duale joins Germany Ambassador for this year’s Day of German Unity Celebrations

Environment Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has joined Germany Ambassador to Kenya Sebastian Groth for this year’s Day of German Unity Celebrations in Nairobi County.

This year’s ceremony, held to celebrate 34 years of a united Germany is themed, “Grooving Green for Sustainable Future”, signifying the European nations commitment to climate action.

Having been the first country to recognize Kenya after indepence, Germany continues to be Kenya’s strongest ally in Europe marked by strong diplomatic relations and deep people-to-people ties.

Bilaterally, Germany is one Kenya’s strongest partners in climate action supporting several initiatives including the implementation of our country’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC), 3rd National Climate Change Action Plan (NCCAP III) and Carbon Markets Framework as well as last year’s inaugural Africa Climate Summit (ACS) that Kenya co-hosted with the African Union in Nairobi.
