It’s all systems go as Kilifi County hosts the fifth Transgenerational Conversations forum this evening from 7.30 pm to 9 pm.

The forum, which will be broadcast live on KBC Channel 1 from the Kibaoni Social Hall, will bring together experts, youth, and community members to discuss the growing generational divide in Kenya and explore ways to foster lasting peace.

The first four sittings were held in Marsabit, Nairobi, Kisumu and Busia counties.

The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC), in conjunction with the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC), launched the engagement this year to promote dialogue, address generational gaps, and foster reconciliation between younger and older generations.

The initiative provides a platform for open communication, aiming to build trust and allow youth to voice their concerns about issues like unemployment and a lack of opportunities.

Today’s panel comprises Brian Ngugi Kamande, the immediate former student leader of Pwani University, who will represent the youth. Other panellists include Millicent Okatch, Director of Research and Education Management at NCIC; Bishop Lewa, representing the clergy; and Miss Lillian Wangeci Ngine.
