Harambee Stars will face Angola in their 2nd Group A African Nations Championship fixture tonight from 7 pm at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.

The morale is high in the camp after the players were rewarded Ksh 1 million each by President William Ruto, following their victory against the DR Congo last Sunday.

Stars Head Coach Benni  McCarthy has exuded confidence ahead of tonight despite Angola playing a high-pressing game.

“We will play our game; we have reviewed their style of play, we know their strengths, and we know how to approach them. I am focused on results, not possession or a beautiful game,” said McCarthy

Stars skipper Aboud Omar assured Kenyans of a victory despite Angola being a tough opponent and called on Kenyans to rally behind them, which had a big impact during their 1st match against DR Congo.

“We are grateful to our fans who played a key role in our first match, and we appeal to them to come out in numbers as we play Angola,” Omar stated

On his part, shot stopper Bryne Omondi said he is up to the challenge against Angola and urged more well-wishers to provide financial support, which has improved morale in the camp.

“I will give my best again against Angola. I know they will equally go all out attacking us since they want that win. We are equally chasing for another win, which will ease pressure in our last two matches.” Said Omondi

On the flip side, Angola tactician Pedro Gonsalves made it clear they have no option but to win against Kenya after losing 2-0 to Morocco in their 1st match.

“We learnt from our mistakes in the first match, and we are keen as we take on the hosts, which is a better side, but our target is to win the match,” Gonsalves stated

Morocco tops Group A on 3 points, the same as Kenya, who have an inferior goal difference.

DR Congo will take on Zambia in the 4 pm kickoff match set for Nyayo Stadium.
