At the heart of the house calendar is the consideration and possible approval of key nominees including envoys, registrar of political parties’ nominee and the next chairperson of the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights who were vetted by the defense and foreign relations committee of the National assembly during the recess period.

Some of the bills  lined up for consideration include  the Privatization Bill, the Political Parties Amendment Bill, and the County Governments Amendment Bill all carrying far reaching implications for party politics, devolution, and state corporations.

The session will also see mediation committees that comprise of lawmakers from both houses consider several contentious pieces of legislation such as the Coffee Bill and the Startup Bill and build consensus between the two Houses on contentious issues.
