A total of 38,400, spectators will be allowed in the stadium tomorrow to watch the 1st CHAN 2024 quarter-final pitting host Kenya (Harambee Stars) against Madagascar’s Barea, set for Kasarani Stadium from 5 pm.
CAF has revised the numbers upwards to 80% from the initial 60% capacity, equivalent to 27,000, in the last group A match between Kenya and Zambia last Sunday, after several security breaches in the previous group matches.
“I have welcomed the Confederation of African Football (CAF)’s decision to revise stadium attendance to 80%, translating to 38,400 tickets. CAF is working to reopen the ticketing portal to accommodate the additional numbers, ensuring more fans can rally behind our National Team, Harambee Stars, in the ongoing CHAN 2024 tournament.” Said Sports CS Salim Mvurya
Addressing the media on Thursday afternoon, the CS assured that CAF will open the ticket-buying portal for the additional 11,400.
The latest development comes even as fans have expressed frustrations in trying to purchase tickets through the MOOKH.COM portal despite being informed that the tickets were already sold out.
