National Assembly Budget and Appropriations committee has raised reservations with regards to a proposed legislation that seeks to insure all Kenyan employees against unemployment.

The Unemployment Insurance Authority Bill sponsored by Ikolomani Member of Parliament (MP) Bernard Shonali seeks to provide payment of unemployment benefits to employees who become unemployed for six months.

The committee led by Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro feels the legislative proposal is heavy on the exchequer and the economy can’t sustain.
