Construction expo to deepen investments in built environment

Kenya is expected to realize significant investments flow in the construction industry as this year’s Big 5 Construct Kenya kicks off in Nairobi.

According to organizers, the expo reflects the country’s commitment to construction and infrastructure expansion and affordable housing under its Vision 2030 and sets the stage for deeper collaboration and commercial opportunities across the built environment.

At least 150 exhibitors from more than 20 countries are attending the event which also gathers international expertise while remaining tailored to Kenya’s evolving market needs.

Among companies represented at the expo include those in building materials, construction tools, interiors and finishes, HVAC-R, MEP services, and digital construction technologies.

Speakers at the event highlighted the importance of aligning project objectives with national development goals, incorporating feasibility studies and stakeholder input as well as applying planning frameworks tailored to Kenya’s construction ecosystem.

“The energy across the halls today reflects the optimism and growth potential within Kenya’s construction sector. Over the next three days, we look forward to productive exchanges, new partnerships and valuable discussions that will support the country’s ambitions in construction and infrastructure development,” said Heijmans.

Big 5 Construct Kenya is supported by Project Management Institute (PMI) – Kenya Chapter, Kenya Green Building Council, Architects Association of Kenya, BIM Africa, The Institution of Engineers of Kenya and the Kenya Association of Building and Civil Engineering Contractors (KABCEC).

The event was inaugurated by Italian Trade Agency Nairobi Office Director Giuseppe Manenti, Kareem Hamdy, Counsellor of Egypt to Kenya; and and Tracy-Lee Behr, Event Director, dmg events.
