The Cabinet Secretary for Sports, Salim Mvurya, today presided over a multi-agency training on safety and security for the 2024 CHAN Championship.
The expansive three-day event held at the Kasarani Stadium focused on emergency response and general disaster management before and during the month-long tournament.
Kenya will host the CHAN group A matches at Nyayo and Kasarani stadiums with the latter will also host the final on August 30.
Harambee Stars are in Group A alongside DR Congo and Morocco, who have won two titles each, Angola and Zambia.
Co-hosts Tanzania will get the tournament underway on the 2nd next month at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium against Burkina Faso.
Other teams in the pool are Mauritania, Madagascar and the Central African Republic.
Uganda Cranes, who will host the bronze match play-off, are in Group C together with Algeria, South Africa, Guinea and Niger, with Group D, which will be based in Zanzibar, comprising of Congo, Nigeria, Senegal and Sudan.
