Doha to host first leg of the 2026 Diamond League

The city of Doha will host the opening leg of the 2026 Diamond League on the 8th of May, with the final being held in Brussels in September.

The series will head to Shanghai China after eight days where most of the sport’s biggest names will be out to make history once again in the 17th edition of the Diamond league.

The African leg of the series will take place in Rabat on the 31st of May, before the first European meeting of the season in Rome on the 4thof June.

After stops in Stockholm, Oslo and Paris, on the 7th, 10th and 26th of June respectively, the world’s biggest stars will head to Eugene on the 4th of July for a meeting which has seen five world records broken in the past three seasons.

The series then returns to Europe for meetings in Monaco and London on the 10th and 18th of July respectively.

Lausanne, Silesia and Zurich will be the last stops in August before the Brussels final on the 4th and 5th of September.

Newly crowned World Champions Emmanuel Wanyonyi, Faith Cherotich and 1500m finalist Nelly Chepchirchir were among the winners of the Diamond League last season.
