Speaking Monday at Uhuru Park during the flagging off of Community Health Promoters to counties, the DP said the meeting will discuss the level of preparedness and how to deal with expected emergencies so that the government is not caught flat-footed.

“ I have this Thursday at 10 am convened the NERC so that we can discuss the level of p so that we don’t get flat-footed as we prepare as a country how to deal with the arising emergencies and any disaster that may be caused by the heavy rains,” he said.

He further pointed out the drainage challenges affecting the cities, an issue he insisted would be part of the agenda.

The Kenya Meteorological Department last week released a weather forecast warning the heavy rains are expected this year from September to January 2024.
