Five people have been arrested and government stores recovered in Kajiado County following a police operation in Ongata Rongai.
Officer on patrol near the PEFA Church stopped two middle-aged men after noticing suspicious behaviour.
A search revealed one of the men had a pair of handcuffs hidden in his jacket pocket. The second suspect tried to flee but was caught after a short chase.
When questioned, the two led police to the Kware area, where officers searched a premised and recovered four spent cartridges and police baton. Three more suspects were arrested at the scene.
The recovered items were secured exibits and all five suspects weere taken into custody.
Police say the operation underlines the importance of vigilance in preventing crime and ensuring such items do not fall into wrong hands.
