Kenya to tap into Senegal experience to bolster Sports Capacity

Kenya has expressed interest in tapping into Senegal’s experience to boost its sports capacity as it prepares to co host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

Speaking while signing bilateral agreements with his Senegalese counterpart Bassurou Diomaye Faye,president William Ruto said that Kenya is committed to exploring joint initiatives such as exchange programmes for football coaches and athletes alike as well as establishing joint training camps.

The President said by combining Kenya’s prowess in athletics and Senegal’s prowess in football the move will uplift the youth and deepen cultural diplomacy.

After successfully co-hosting the 2024 African Nations Championship,CHAN, the east africa nations of Kenya,Uganda and Tanzania will once again play host to the 2027 Africa Cup of nations.

A total of 19 countries are expected to take part in the competition with Kenya and her co-hosts expected to put up another successful continental football extravaganza.

In readiness for the competition Kenya is building a 60,000 capacity Talanta City Stadium which will be one of the three match venues alongside Moi Kasarani and Nyayo stadia.
