The Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) has appointed its General Manager for Finance, Pius Mwendwa, as Acting Managing Director following emerging developments affecting the current office holder, Joe Sang.
In a statement, the company’s Board of Directors said it had taken note of ongoing reports and was actively monitoring the situation, adding that it is engaging relevant institutions to establish the nature and scope of the allegations.
The Board reassured stakeholders and the public that the corporation’s operations remain stable and unaffected despite the developments.
“To ensure business continuity in the intervening period, Mr Pius Mwendwa will discharge the duties of the office of the Managing Director,” the Board said.
Sang is among three senior officials arrested over the alleged importation of substandard fuel.
