Machakos County has launched its sixth fully operational Fire and Rescue Centre in Kyumbi in an effort to enhance emergency services in the area.

While unveiling the centre which is located along the busy Nairobi-Mombasa Highway, Governor Wavinya Ndeti officially said it was a proud moment for the county and a big step forward in improving emergency response.

The modern emergency hub will offer round-the-clock fire response, rescue services, trauma counselling, and linkage to long-term support, transforming how the county handles emergencies.

‎“The Kyumbi Fire Station stands out as a symbol of what collaboration, purpose, and determination can achieve. This is a game changer in our emergency response and a reaffirmation of my government’s commitment to efficiency during unforeseen circumstances,”said the County Boss.

The governor expressed gratitude to development partners including Purple Dot, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and the Kenya Red Cross, whose support she described as instrumental in making the project a reality.

She noted that the collaboration had strengthened emergency preparedness in the county and underscored the importance of strategic partnerships in delivering life-saving services to Machakos residents.
