Shadrack Maluki has been elected the new National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOCK), President after polling 15 votes against former Secretary General Francis Mutuku, who garnered 12 votes.
Maluki, who is the Judo Federation President and former 1st Vice President, polled 15 votes against former Secretary General Francis Mutuku’s 12.
Barnaba Korir will serve as the new 1st Vice President after garnering 15 votes against Boxing Federation of Kenya President Anthony Ombok,who got 12 votes.
Kenya Hockey Union President Col. (rtd) Nahashon Randiek will be the new 2nd vice president with 14 votes against Anthony Kariuki, who got 13 votes.
John Ogolla will serve as the new Secretary General after being elected unopposed, deputised by Francis Karugu, who won against Humphrey Khayange 14-13.
Fred Chege will serve as the new Treasurer after garnering 14 votes, a vote ahead of Francis Mbuthia, who finished 2nd and will be deputised by Charles Mose from the cycling.
Joyceline Nyambura, Suleiman Sumba and Sasha Mutai have been elected committee members, while Eliud Kipchoge and Grace Adhiambo will serve as athlete representatives for male and female respectively.
Doreen Okwiri saw off Mududa Waweru for the woman representative position.
The election was held on Monday after being postponed twice in April and June.
The elected new officials will serve for a term of four years.
