Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has strongly defended President William Ruto, accusing certain opposition members and media outlets of engaging in baseless attacks aimed at undermining the Head of State.
Mudavadi stated that President Ruto has demonstrated exceptional courage and commitment to the country’s democratic ideals despite the ongoing criticism and misinformation.
“Just imagine if you were in his shoes — waking up every day to headlines attacking you, spreading falsehoods, and questioning your work — yet he continues to lead with focus and determination. That takes courage and devotion,” Mudavadi remarked.
The Prime CS urged Kenyans to unite behind the President and allow him time to implement his development agenda, describing his leadership as the right path for the country.
“Kenya must be one. The coming together of President Ruto and Raila Odinga is about logic, not convenience. It is the reasonable thing to do for the unity and stability of our nation,” he added.
Mudavadi also cautioned leaders against politicizing governance, highlighting that President Ruto’s administration has created opportunities and delivered development across the country.
His comments were echoed by COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli, who stated that Ruto deserves to complete the constitutionally guaranteed two terms, just like his predecessors.
“In Kenya’s system, a President serves for ten years. President Ruto will be no different. He must complete his two terms — it has become part of our democratic tradition,” Atwoli affirmed.
Atwoli further praised Ruto’s inclusive leadership, noting that the President has fostered progress in all regions, including Nyanza, and deserves ongoing political support.
“The President cannot deliver development and appointments nationwide, then we turn around and say we’ll reconsider our support in 2027. We must be committed to his second term,” he stated.
