Leaders have reaffirmed the national government’s commitment to improving road infrastructure in Nyandarua County.
Speaking during a visit to Kinangop, where MP Thuku hosted the leaders, they emphasized that the construction of key roads across the county is a priority as the government seeks to uplift the quality of life for residents through better connectivity and accessibility.
One of the major road projects currently underway is the Waki Road in Ngorano.
Eng. Mbugua confirmed that government has already allocated funds for the road, and construction is expected to proceed without delays until completion.
He further noted that the government is keen on ensuring that all road projects in the region are completed to the highest standards and within the set timelines.
Rebecca Miano highlighted the government’s broader transport agenda, which includes the rehabilitation and development of roads to ease the cost of living and stimulate economic growth.
According to her, good road infrastructure plays a central role in facilitating trade, access to services, and the movement of goods and people, especially in rural counties like Nyandarua.
Good roads are essential for Nyandarua’s agricultural economy, as they enable farmers to transport their produce efficiently to markets. Improved roads also attract investment, promote tourism, and improve access to health and education services.
In a county known for its fertile lands and vibrant communities, infrastructure development is not just a government agenda it is a lifeline for development and prosperity.
The leaders made these remarks at AIC Church in Githioro, Kinangop, during a thanksgiving service where they also launched the construction of the church access road. Kinangop MP Kwenya Thuku, who hosted the event, welcomed President Ruto’s pledge of Ksh 3 million for the project and praised the government’s continued investment in local infrastructure as a clear demonstration of its commitment to the people of Nyandarua.
