The popular music festival Blankets & Wine will make its debut in the UK, specifically in Bradford, on September 6.
The show is part of the ongoing #UKKenyaSeason2025, a bold, cross-cultural season of creativity delivered in partnership with artists, organisations, and institutions across Kenya and the UK, which was announced earlier this year.
Some of the artists expected to perform at the event include Afro-house powerhouse Tina Ardor and DJ Euggy, Boutross, Njerae, Muthoni Drummer Queen, Blinky Bill, Coster Ojwang, Bensoul and Elsa Wameyo.
The event’s founder, Muthoni Ndong’a, better known as Muthoni Thee Drummer Queen, called it “a dream come true”.
“This is a dream come true. Since 2008, we’ve been passionate about showcasing the incredible talent of African musicians, building a real community of fans, vendors and sponsors and scaling opportunities across the live music value chain.
“Taking Blankets & Wine to the UK is the next step in exporting our music and culture, and is a testament to the power of Blankets in transcending borders and connecting people from all walks of life.”
The festival will host its show at Lister Park.
