OMU multi agency team heightens joint patrols in North Rift region

Operation Maliza Uhalifu ‘OMU’ Multi agency team conducted a joint patrol in the areas of Akwichatis, Nasorot and Napukot in Baringo County.

The team involved troops from the Kenya Defence Forces and National Police Service where they also conducted medical camps, donated water and food items to locals of Silale ward, Baringo County.

During the patrol, the team identified areas that still faced challenges in returning to normalcy in the troubled North Rift region.

Stakeholders urged the local residents to collaborate with the security agencies to bring peace and stability back to the region.

Bismark Kanyakera, a teacher at Napuket Primary School, expressed gratitude to the team for not only restoring security but also for their efforts in rehabilitating schools and providing water and food to school children.

 

The joint security team also engaged with traders at Milekut market.

Local elders conveyed the community’s appreciation for the role of security personnel in ending the era of banditry in Northern Kenya, which has created a peaceful environment for trade.

The increased joint patrols and leadership engagements are ongoing efforts by the Operation Maliza Uhalifu multi-agency team to promote peace and normalcy in the North Rift region.
