Lorry ferrying over 10 swept away by floods in Sultan Hamud

A lorry ferrying over 10 people has been swept away by raging waters of flooded River Kwa Muswii at Kasikeu area, Sultan Hamud in Makueni County.

The lorry was also carrying sand.

Kenya Red Cross on their X handle has noted that their officers are at the scene and actively responding to the situation.
So far 7 individuals have  been rescued and taken to Sultan Hamud Sub-County Hospital following the incident.
Elsewhere, Kenya Red Cross officers have evacuated 41 individuals, including 30 adults and 11 children, from Malimo to Laini in Kilifi.
The Society says they were marooned due to the overflowing River Sabaki.
