Treasury Principal Secretary Chris Kiptoo now wants accounting officers in Government to address the challenge of pending bills which he says are negatively affecting the economy.

The PS says the inter-ministerial committee formulated to address the matter will reconvene in two months to reflect on progress made in the payment of pending bills staggering into over Ksh 300 billion.

Principal Secretaries with stalled projects have been urged to liaise with relevant authorities to see to it that various projects have been implemented.

Parliament in February this year launched investigations into allegations of diversion of payments meant for suppliers for pending bills which stood at Ksh 646.8 billion in December last year.
