Saudia reported rise in travelers from Africa during the winter season driven by Saudi Arabia’s geographical proximity, favourable weather, and a wide variety of experiences.

The airline says Riyadh, AlUla, Jeddah, and Abha stood out as the Kingdom’s leading winter tourism destinations for African travelers, offering a vibrant seasonal retreat characterized by cooler temperature.

“Visitors are invited to explore the Kingdom’s diverse regions alongside a dynamic calendar of international sporting, cultural, and entertainment events, many of which rank among the largest of their kind in the Middle East and Africa. Supported by Saudia’s extensive network and strong domestic connectivity, travel to and within the Kingdom is both seamless and efficient,” said the airline.

The increase in the number of African travelers to the Kingdom was further bolstered by Saudia’s onboard experience that combines spacious seating and personal screens with a premium in-flight entertainment system offering rich, multilingual content.

Last year, the airline was awarded “Best Airline Staff Service” at the Skytrax World Airline Awards 2025 in addition to being the “World Class Airline 2026” award for the fifth consecutive year at the APEX Awards, along with the “Best Guest Experience Airline” award for the second consecutive year.

“Together, these elements position Saudi Arabia as a fully integrated destination catering to a wide range of preferences, opening the door to discovering its most prominent cities and attractions, from the modern capital Riyadh and historic Diriyah, to the dramatic desert landscapes of AlUla, the coastal city of Jeddah, and the mountainous region of Abha,” added the airline in a statement.

According to Saudia, Saudi Arabia emerged as a top winter destination for guests from Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, and other African countries.
