The Rashid Abdalla Super Cup’s sixth edition has received a significant boost with a Ksh 2 million sponsorship from the betting company Shabiki.Com, ahead of the semi finals set for the 21st an 22nd this month.
32 teams, 16 from Kwale and 16 from Mombasa are competing in this year’s edition whose final will be played on 14th next month in Kwale Stadium with winners walking away with Ksh 2.5 and a coveted trophy.
During the sponsorship unveiling on Tuesday, Shabiki.com’s Chief Operations Officer, Abdi Wako, expressed their aim to establish a long-term collaboration with the tournament, which has been crucial in nurturing talent along the coastal region.
The Ksh 2 million shillings will go torwards purchase of jerseys and assist in tournament logistics.

Speaking at the sponsorship unveiling, the tournament founder, Rashid Abdalla, said his long-term vision was to nurture talent in the entire coastal region and keep the young men busy and avoid vices such as drug abuse and engaging in criminal activities.
“We thank Shabiki for being part of our journey, and the long-term vision for the tournament is to expand and accommodate teams from the entire coastal region and not only Kwale and Mombasa counties. We aim to nurture football talents and keep the youth away from drugs and crimes.” Rashid said
Bandari Youth will play Azam United in this year’s semifinals set for 21st November at Waa Stadium, while Nasty Milan will square off against Lazium FC a day later in the same venue.
