Nyandarua Police Commander Stella Cherono has visited the Rwanyambo Police Post after a woman reportedly miscarried while in custody.
Commander Cherono expressed regret over the incident, which is under investigation by the National Police Service (NPS) to determine the circumstances, given that the woman was seven months pregnant at the time of her detention.
The incident has sparked public outrage, with Rwanyambo residents staging protests and storming the police post to demand accountability and justice.
Nyandarua Senator John Methu has also raised the matter in the Senate, urging the government to provide answers and take appropriate action against those found culpable.
NPS has interdicted the Officer Commanding Station (OCS) at Rwanyambo Police Post, pending the outcome of the investigations.
