This past weekend, Nairobi hosted three major events that celebrated Kenyan music, culture and lifestyle.
Matata Mpishi EP tour at Masshouse Ngong racecourse

Kicking off the weekend was Matata’s Mpishi EP Tour held at Masshouse, Ngong racecourse. The event brought together an impressive line-up of artists and performers.
DJ Regan opened the show, accompanied by hype sets from Guddahman. Dance lovers were treated to an impressive performance by Art in Motion, who merged movement with the music.
Highlighting the evening were performances by Boutross and music duo Watendawili, both of whom kept the crowd engaged with their unique sounds.
DJ Sir M followed with a set that set the tone for the main act, Matata, who delivered a standout performance alongside celebrated artist Bien. Together, they performed the hit track “Mpishi.”
The event also featured performances by Mejja, the Unit band and an appearance by DJ Shiti.
Gordon’s High Tea returns with the ‘Par-Tea’ experience

Meanwhile, on Saturday afternoon, Holiday Inn Nairobi Two Rivers hosted the second edition of Gordon’s High Tea. The ‘Par-Tea’ event combined gin culture with traditional afternoon tea elements.
Guests, dressed in soft winter hues, enjoyed a curated menu of tea-infused Gordon’s cocktails balanced with an assortment of sweet and savoury treats.
“The High Tea experience is our way of showing the versatility of Gordon’s, it’s not just a gin, it’s a lifestyle,” explained Wangeci Gakenia, Brand Manager, Gordon’s, EABL. “From tea pairings to mixology and ambience, we wanted to offer something light, playful and premium.”
Anto Neosoul, the Revolution Band and a DJ set provided entertainment.
Celebrating Luo culture at the Luo festival

The weekend concluded with the Luo Festival, a cultural celebration described as honouring “a culture of class, trendsetters, pacesetters and the learned.” The event combined traditional Luo heritage with contemporary musical performances.
Featured artists included Prince Indah, Coster Ojwang, Okello Max, Khaligraph Jones, Musa Jakadala and Iyanii, each bringing their unique style to the stage.
The event was further energised by DJ sets from Joe Mfalme and DJ Daffy, alongside high-energy hype sets from MC Gogo and Hype Ballo.
The festival reflects a broader trend of community-focused cultural events that blend heritage preservation with contemporary entertainment formats.
The three events collectively demonstrate the diversity of Nairobi’s current entertainment scene.
