The Government is set to launch the 2025 National Alcohol Policy which is expected to usher in a fresh, people-centered approach to prevention, treatment, and recovery.

The National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) has developed the 2025 National Policy on Alcohol, Drugs, and Substance Abuse which according to NACADA CEO Dr. Anthony Omerikwa, will prioritizes prevention, access to treatment, and evidence-based responses.

It’s a roadmap designed to protect Kenya’s most vulnerable especially the youth.

The key pillars of the policy include Enforcement of solid alcohol regulations, stronger prevention strategies, enhanced support systems for rehabilitation and reintegration.

The policy aligns with Kenya’s long-term public health goals and seeks to unify efforts by government agencies, community groups, and families to create a sober, productive society.
