Body positivity influencer Achieng Agutu walked the runway at Paris’ Hotel de Ville in an event hosted by the cosmetics company L’Oreal.
The event that drew models and Hollywood icons was intended to celebrate beauty, empowerment and sisterhood.
Upon her debut, Achieng thanked L’Oreal for the opportunity.
“Thank you so much to the L’Oreal Paris team for letting me live my wildest dreams. I am just a young girl from Kenya who had a BIG dream, and they came true,” she said.
Ms Agutu, well known for her empowering presence on social media, where she promotes self-love and confidence, walked in a long black Balmain gown with gold details.
The runway show, which was streamed live on the company’s official channel, featured celebrities such as Viola Davis, Eva Longoria, who is later seen pictured with Agutu, Kendall Jenner and Jane Fonda.
Speaking backstage after the show, Agutu said this was about showing “every African girl that she belongs on the biggest stages in the world.”
