President William Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto have arrived at the Parliament Buildings, where they were ceremoniously received by the parliamentary leadership, led by National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, Senate Speaker Amason Kingi, Chief Justice Martha Koome, members of the ODM party and military commanders, including Chief of Defence Forces Charles Kahariri.

The president’s arrival marks the formal signal that the stationing at Parliament is almost complete and that the procession to Nyayo Stadium will begin soon, following a short service. Upon arrival, the President and First Lady paid their respects to the body of Raila Odinga, currently lying in state in Parliament, and consoled with the Odinga family.

Members of the executive, legislators, and other dignitaries have already gathered in Parliament in readiness for the funeral procession.

The coffin of the late Prime Minister Raila Odinga will be transferred via a state-escorted motorcade to Nyayo National Stadium for the National funeral service.
