Mejja marked a new chapter in his career at an exclusive listening party, unveiling his long-awaited debut album, Mtoto wa Khadija, to a carefully selected crowd of creatives at EABL’s Microbrewery in Nairobi.
The intimate event brought together some of the industry’s most recognisable faces, including MC Azeezah Hashim, DJ Gibbz Tha Daqchild, Breeder LW, Ndovu Kuu, Fathermoh, legendary music producer Musyoka, Boutross, among others.
Speaking at the event, Mejja said: “This album is very personal to me. It represents growth, not just as an artist, but as a person. I’ve taken time to craft something that reflects where I am right now. Having people experience it for the first time in a room like this, feeling the energy together, that means everything.”
Nadia Mukami took to the stage to perform ‘Confidence’, her collaboration with Mejja off the new album, giving the room a live taste of what to expect.
The 13-track album tells the story of an artist pulling from every corner of his world.

It opens with “Toxic” featuring Shee, moves through “Ntampata Wapi” with Jay Melody, “Kale Ka Uoga” with Scar Mkadinali, and “Manifest” with Toxic Lyrikali.
“Mboka and Mmea” sit at the heart of the project before “Mental”, a standout collaboration with Khaligraph Jones. The album also features “Naskia (Ooh)” with Dyana Cods, “Lambo” with Moha and Madeh, “Siaka” with Fik Fameic and closes with “Vulai” alongside Ndovu Kuu and Zzero Sufuri.
“This listening party was not just about music, it was about bringing together culture, community and creativity in an authentic way. We are proud to walk this journey with him as he unveils this new chapter,” said Victor Adada, Brand Manager for Captain Morgan.
The album is available on major streaming platforms.
